Here's where you post your light bulbs!

I had an idea, we should have an international clock on here. So we can tell what time it is wherever ppl are. Like some of you are on teh west coast of the US & other on the east. It should be easy for you to figure out the time, but ppl are lazy...

Plus I don't know the time where you guys are... 10.07pm in LA? maybe... But that's not including day light savings time I think...

We don't seem to be getting to much traffic right this moment, which is good. The forum will be on holiday (i.e.- no posting). It should only take a half hour tops.

After much discussion,

the powers that be decided upon a new course of action when it comes to the OQL forum.

Starting today, members will be required to have at least fifteen posts to view the forum,

and we ask that you have fifty before we honor requests

(with over six-hundred topics, this should be quite easy)

We understand that these guidelines will make us a bit unpopular to some,

but we feel them a necessary addition.

Today, Dan Lynch (aka Shadowrenderer) officially joined the ARA website team.

His official titles include "Local Moderator of the Art Forum" and senior member of the "Website Design Team".

(this way, instead of merely asking him to create graphics and images,

I can list out assumed responsibilities,

and not feel bad about extravagantly demanding what I want when I want it)

I'll be working on 2 ideas, the first being the ARA Super Team Supreme. Whole team right across the top. Possibly an animated gif if that'll work. Red?

I know that this will be insanely abused, but I'm prepared for the craziness that will ensue.

As a general guideline, when a moderator edits your post they may use a certain color to implicate what has been changed.

For instance, my color is dark red.

Thomas' is blue.

TB's is brown.

Dan has green.

(The other moderators have not specified their colors yet)

This is just in case you were wondering which one of us all powerful beings modified you post and made you ...

I combined the Art and Literature Forums (both had low hit counts)

and I also moved the Gaming Forum.

Yes, you did read that correctly.

For a short time, I'll leave up this thread for you to complain about things that you don't like about the forum.

The more intelligently you state your viewpoint/reasons the more willing I am to grace you with a response and possibly even do something about it.

Things that are going to change in the near future anyways (so don't bother commenting on them):

-The ranking system. I'm still working out how to get that really super-de-dooper idea ...

It's currently being updated. Bear with me, as I may have made some errors in the configuration.

Explanation:

Basically, you start on "Level 0" with no charge.

Is there some way you could add a ranking section into the memberlist? This would be different than the ranking that shows when we post--all I mean is, is there a way to show the member list starting with the person who posts the most (Dan) and ending with the person(s) who posts the least? I was number 3, right behind TB, but I went away for a few days and now I've slipt behind Joel and some others...irrrr. It would be cool if I could find where I land post-wise right away...though I'm not catching ...
